The Benefits of Fence & Deck Staining Services

Our customers love the look and feel of deck and fence staining. Some of the most significant benefits of fence and deck staining services include the following:

Aesthetics

Staining is an excellent way to boost the natural beauty of your wood.

Prevents Wood Rot

Staining seals wood pores to help prevent rot, decay, and mold growth.

Stops Fading

Wood fades and discolors due to weathering, so it’s important to help protect it with stain.

Deck Paint vs. Stain

The most significant difference between paint and stain is that paint sits on top of the surface, while stain absorbs into the surface. We can help determine the best thing for your deck or fence. Some of the differences between paint and stain include the following:

Appearance

Stain enhances the natural beauty and grain of your wood, while paint covers the wood with a specific color.

Transparency

Stains are typically semi-transparent or transparent to allow the natural grain of the boards to show through, while paint covers the grain.

Maintenance

Stain fades and wears away over time, so wood needs to be stained every few years. Painted wood typically lasts longer without chipping or fading.

Preparation

Painting requires prepping the wood with sanding and priming. Staining is directly applied to clean wood.

Fence & Deck Paint and Stain Maintenance

We offer ongoing fence and deck stain and paint maintenance to ensure your color is fresh. We help increase the lifespan of your stain or paint with maintenance services. It’s important to get a professional pressure wash yearly. We recommend fresh coats of stain and paint touchups every one to four years.

Would give more stars if possible! Five Star completed full exterior and interior painting of our home. Fair pricing, timely in every aspect... communication and arrival times, color expert to help choose your perfect colors, meticulous neatness, extremely respectful of home, amazing work, and everyone was a pleasure to work with. I have pictures but they just don't do the work justice. Highly recommend without reservation.

Used them for the first time, very happy! The person who gave us a quote was very thorough. They painted our deck in September and did a perfect job plus showed respect for our property. I like the way a project manager came the day before, we met with him and the painting team and then he came back after the job was done to inspect it and make sure we were fully satisfied before paying. In January they came and did interior painting and I was also great! There was a few areas in the bathroom we needed touched up and the project manager came the next day and took care of it for us. I’ve been very happy with the whole process and recommend them highly!

Five star painting did two colors on the entire exterior of my house. Not only Did they do an exemplary job of painting, but they were very careful with our sidewalks plants and borders. They showed up on Time every day, and worked diligently, efficiently, and quietly. My wife and I would recommend them for any of your painting needs.

  • Thermostat.

When Is It Too Cold to Paint The Exterior of Your House? (And Ideal Conditions)

Knowing the right temperature range for painting the exterior of your house is critical. If you start your project in temps outside this range, you risk premature paint failure and a tragic waste of time and money.

  • Paint buckets.

How Long Can You Keep Paint Before It Goes Bad?

We’ve all been there—a painting project doesn’t use up all the paint you bought, and now it’s time to hammer the lid back on and take it to the garage or basement storage area. That paint will go bad in two to fifteen years. That’s such a big range, so how do you determine when it’ll be spent? Examine the type of paint and storage conditions to estimate shelf life. We’ll walk you through it.

  • Cleaning cabinets.

How to Clean Your Painted Kitchen Cabinets

Cleaning painted cabinets isn't just about wiping last night’s sauce splatter off. It's about removing the buildup that settles over time that stems from cooking, baking, and everyday handling of your painted kitchen cabinets. Safely removing this buildup can become more difficult, especially when harsher cleaning materials can damage the paint on your cabinets.
