Cabinet Refinishing vs. Refacing

It’s important to consider all your options when your kitchen cabinets no longer make you happy. You have the option to have your cabinets refinished, refaced, or replaced. Cabinet refinishing involves changing the color or finish of your cabinets. Our professionals do this by hand sanding or stripping the finish from your cabinets before we apply new paint or stain. Cabinet refacing involves replacing your cabinet doors and drawer fronts with brand-new ones. We place new material or veneer on top of your drawers and cabinet frames to match your new doors. This process may also require replacing moldings, side panels, and face framings.

Options for Refinishing Your Kitchen Cabinets

Many homeowners find that refinishing the kitchen cabinets is the best choice. Our cabinet refinishers in Frisco are happy to provide you with a consultation and the cost to refinish your kitchen cabinets. Three options for refinishing your kitchen cabinetry are painting, glazing, and staining. Staining your cabinets with highly natural grain can add rich color tones to dark wood. Painting cabinets results in a smooth, solid surface and color. Glazing cabinets add contrast and dimension. Our team can help you decide the best option for your kitchen cabinets.

Pros & Cons of Refinishing Your Home’s Cabinets

Refinishing your cabinets is an excellent way to boost your kitchen’s aesthetic. The advantages of having your kitchen cabinets refinished include being more cost-effective and faster than resurfacing or replacing your cabinets. The cons are that refinishing your kitchen cabinets will not fix any significant damages or dents and won’t change the overall look or layout of your cabinets.

Would give more stars if possible! Five Star completed full exterior and interior painting of our home. Fair pricing, timely in every aspect... communication and arrival times, color expert to help choose your perfect colors, meticulous neatness, extremely respectful of home, amazing work, and everyone was a pleasure to work with. I have pictures but they just don't do the work justice. Highly recommend without reservation.

Used them for the first time, very happy! The person who gave us a quote was very thorough. They painted our deck in September and did a perfect job plus showed respect for our property. I like the way a project manager came the day before, we met with him and the painting team and then he came back after the job was done to inspect it and make sure we were fully satisfied before paying. In January they came and did interior painting and I was also great! There was a few areas in the bathroom we needed touched up and the project manager came the next day and took care of it for us. I’ve been very happy with the whole process and recommend them highly!

Five star painting did two colors on the entire exterior of my house. Not only Did they do an exemplary job of painting, but they were very careful with our sidewalks plants and borders. They showed up on Time every day, and worked diligently, efficiently, and quietly. My wife and I would recommend them for any of your painting needs.

  • Thermostat.

When Is It Too Cold to Paint The Exterior of Your House? (And Ideal Conditions)

Knowing the right temperature range for painting the exterior of your house is critical. If you start your project in temps outside this range, you risk premature paint failure and a tragic waste of time and money.

How Long Can You Keep Paint Before It Goes Bad?

We’ve all been there—a painting project doesn’t use up all the paint you bought, and now it’s time to hammer the lid back on and take it to the garage or basement storage area. That paint will go bad in two to fifteen years. That’s such a big range, so how do you determine when it’ll be spent? Examine the type of paint and storage conditions to estimate shelf life. We’ll walk you through it.

  • Cleaning cabinets.

How to Clean Your Painted Kitchen Cabinets

Cleaning painted cabinets isn't just about wiping last night’s sauce splatter off. It's about removing the buildup that settles over time that stems from cooking, baking, and everyday handling of your painted kitchen cabinets. Safely removing this buildup can become more difficult, especially when harsher cleaning materials can damage the paint on your cabinets.
